Accessibility Statement

Conformance Standard

We measure our website against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the standard most widely referenced in the United States for private-sector websites, and it is the standard we hold ourselves to. We are also progressively adopting the additional success criteria introduced in WCAG 2.2 Level AA, including improvements to focus visibility, target size, and reducing the cognitive load of forms and authentication.

Conformance status: partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Following the W3C’s terminology, “partially conformant” means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the standard — in our case, particularly the third-party content and the older material described in Section 6. We are actively working on the gaps. We state this plainly rather than claiming full conformance, because an honest statement is more useful to you than an aspirational one.

What We Have Built Into the Site

Accessibility is addressed in the underlying design and code of the website, which is where it matters most. The following describe the standards we design, build, and test to for the pages and components we control. They do not describe the third-party content identified in Section 6, which is outside our control.

Structure and navigation

• Semantic HTML with a logical heading hierarchy, so screen reader users can navigate by heading
• Landmark regions (header, navigation, main, footer) that allow assistive technology to jump between areas of the page
• A “skip to main content” link at the start of pages
• Consistent, predictable navigation and page structure across the site
• A logical, visible focus order that follows the reading order of the page

Keyboard access

• Interactive elements — links, buttons, form fields, menus, sliders, accordions, tabs, modals, and video controls — are built and tested to be operable with a keyboard alone
• Visible focus indicators on interactive elements
• Avoiding keyboard traps; modals and menus are built to return focus to the element that opened them and to close with the Escape key

Visual design

• Text and interactive elements that meet or exceed WCAG contrast ratios of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text and user interface components
• Content that reflows without horizontal scrolling at 320 CSS pixels of width and remains readable at 200% zoom
• Meaning that is never conveyed by color alone
• Touch targets sized for accurate activation on mobile devices

Content and media

• Descriptive alternative text on informative images, and null alternative text on decorative images so screen readers skip them
• Descriptive, unique link text that makes sense out of context, rather than “click here” or “read more”
• Captions on video content that we produce and publish
• No content that flashes more than three times per second
• Respect for the operating system’s “reduce motion” setting, which suppresses non-essential animation

Forms

• Programmatically associated labels on form fields
• Clear, specific error messages that identify the field and describe how to fix the problem, announced to assistive technology
• Instructions and required-field indicators that do not rely on color or placeholder text alone
• Sufficient time to complete forms, without unexpected timeouts

Process

• Accessibility requirements are included in our design and development standards
• Automated accessibility testing is run as part of our publishing process
• Manual testing is performed with keyboard-only navigation and with screen readers
• New templates and components are reviewed for accessibility before launch
• Staff who publish content are trained on writing alternative text, using headings correctly, and creating accessible links

Accessibility Tools on Our Website

In addition to the underlying work described above, our website includes an accessibility interface that lets you adjust the presentation of the site to suit your needs. You can open it using the accessibility icon that appears on every page.

The interface allows you to:

• Adjust text — increase or decrease text size, adjust line height, letter spacing, and word spacing, align text, and switch to a font designed to be easier to read for people with dyslexia
• Adjust color and contrast — apply high-contrast, inverted, dark, or light color schemes, adjust saturation, and apply a monochrome view
• Reduce motion and distraction — pause animations, hide images, and use a reading mask or reading guide to focus on one line at a time
• Improve visibility of interactive elements — highlight links, headings, and focusable elements, and enlarge the cursor
• Navigation aids — a page structure summary listing headings and landmarks, and tooltips describing controls
• Reading support — a text-to-speech reader for page content

Your selections are remembered as you move between pages and on return visits, and the interface itself is operable by keyboard and screen reader.

An important note about these tools. We want to be clear about what this interface is and is not. It is a convenience layer that supplements our underlying accessibility work — it is not a substitute for it, and using it is never required to access our website. The site is built to be operable with your own assistive technology, browser settings, and operating system accessibility features, and you should not have to enable anything on our site for those to work. We do not claim that any automated tool, overlay, or widget makes a website conformant with WCAG or compliant with any law. Our commitment is to the accessibility of the site itself.

Compatibility

The website is designed to work with current versions of:

• Browsers: Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge
• Screen readers: JAWS and NVDA on Windows, VoiceOver on macOS and iOS, and TalkBack on Android
• Other assistive technology: screen magnification software, speech recognition software, switch access, and browser and operating system accessibility settings

The website is built with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WAI-ARIA. It relies on JavaScript for some functionality. It may not work as expected with browsers or assistive technologies more than two major versions out of date, or with JavaScript disabled.

Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some content on our website is not yet fully accessible. We disclose these limitations so you know what to expect and how to get help.

Third-party content and integrations

Portions of our site are provided by third parties whose code we do not control. These include our online scheduling and booking system, third-party financing application flows, embedded videos, embedded maps, embedded social media feeds, and review widgets. We have raised accessibility with these vendors and consider accessibility in our vendor selection, but we cannot guarantee their conformance.

Before-and-after galleries

Our results gallery contains a large number of clinical photographs. Alternative text on these images describes the treatment, the area treated, and the timeframe, but cannot fully convey a visual result. We are continuing to improve these descriptions. If you would like a gallery image described in more detail, contact us and a team member will describe it for you.

Older documents and materials

Some PDF forms and older documents published before our current standards were adopted may not be fully tagged for screen readers. We are remediating these on a rolling basis and will provide an accessible version of any document on request, at no charge.

User-generated content

Reviews, social media posts, and other content created by third parties may not include alternative text or captions.

Third-party video

Videos hosted on external platforms include captions where we produce them, but automatically generated captions on some older or third-party videos may contain inaccuracies. Contact us if you need an accurate transcript.

What to include, if you can: the page address (URL), a description of the problem, what you were trying to do, and the browser, device, and assistive technology you were using. Any detail helps, but do not worry if you cannot provide all of it — tell us what you can and we will work it out.

What happens next

1. We acknowledge every accessibility report within 3 business days.
2. We investigate and give you a substantive response — including what we found and our plan to fix it — within 10 business days. If a fix will take longer, we will tell you why and give you an expected timeframe.
3. In the meantime, we will immediately provide the information or complete the transaction for you through an alternative method, so that the barrier does not delay you.
4. We track every report through to resolution and use it to improve our standards and testing.

If you are not satisfied with our response, ask to have your report escalated to management by writing to the mailing address above, and a member of our leadership team will respond to you directly.

Assessment and Ongoing Work

Our accessibility approach is evaluated through a combination of:

• Automated testing run against the site on an ongoing basis and as part of our publishing process
• Manual expert review against the WCAG 2.1 Level AA success criteria
• Keyboard-only and screen reader testing of key user paths, including finding a treatment, requesting a consultation, and booking an appointment
• Feedback from users, which we treat as a primary source of information

We review this statement and reassess the site’s conformance at least annually, and additionally after any significant redesign or the addition of a major new feature. Remediation of identified issues is prioritized by the severity of the barrier and how many people it affects, with issues that block a person from completing a task addressed first.

Formal Approvals and Applicable Standards

This statement was prepared with reference to the W3C’s guidance for accessibility statements and reflects a self-evaluation of the website combined with automated and manual testing. It has been approved by VIV Wellness, LLC.

We consider the following in our approach: Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act and its implementing regulations as they apply to places of public accommodation; the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and, progressively, WCAG 2.2 Level AA; and, for our physical premises, the Texas Accessibility Standards adopted under Chapter 469 of the Texas Government Code and administered by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
